The Mi6 Building history

In the book James Bond On Location: Volume 1: London by J P Sperati, there is mention about the history of the building.

When the architects were designing the complex in the 1980s, first as an urban village and then as offices, they were not told which agency would be occupying the site, since at the time the British Government did not admit to the existence of Mi6.

What is it like inside the Mi6 building?

According to one source online who claims to have worked for the Home Office:

I’ve been inside the Mi6 building and, to be honest, it’s just an upmarket office building. No Aston Martins, no exploding dummies, not even cinema screens showing live satellite video of terrorist camps….just lots of desks, computers and the occasional wall map.

Their spies rarely even use the building as there’s a good chance they’d be photographed by a ‘tourist’ outside.

Nearest Bond Location: (No Time To Die) Bond’s garage at 208 Centaur St, London SE1. Or Lazenby Lamppost.

Nearest Pint: Morpeth Arms 58 Millbank, London SW1P 4RW (untested). There is a gay bar nearby called the Royal Vauxhall Tavern was rumoured to be visited by Freddie Mercury and Princess Diana who was dressed as a man. I recommend this Online Guide to Vauxhall for more details.
