Set Up:
In GoldenEye, Kings Cross St Pancras doubles for a Russian station, and Natalya Simonova (played by Izabella Scorupco) on the run from her murderous employers, disembarks on platform 5.
Kings Cross, as a film destination, will be mainly known for the Harry Potter films. You’ll find scores and scores of people queuing up to have their picture taken at the trolley handle in the wall, which is just conveniently placed near the Harry Potter gift shop.
Kings Cross St Pancras (full title) was also featured in Mission Impossible Rogue Nation, where Benji gets kidnapped by Solomon Lane. I’ve tried matching up some exact locations but the very empty concourse in front of platforms 4 to 8 was disguised with plenty of set dressing, and little of what you can see exists apart from the trains. (Confirmed by Movie Locations).
But let’s talk Bond, and yes Kings Cross St Pancras was featured in a Bond films, GoldenEye.
Platform 5 can be briefly glimpsed when Natalya Simonova emerges from the train and sees some Russian soldiers over her shoulder. The platform itself is not accesible unless you happen to have a ticket for a train. I lucked out on a recent trip to Leeds and happened to catch a GNR train leaving from an adjacent platform.
For the return leg we actually docked on platform 5 so I got to experience the exit that Natalya would have done. The scene is so fleeting there is nothing of great note to pair or match shots to.

Good to know: The Western Concourse has a beautiful roof, installed in 2012. Amazingly, and according to this article, The station, which currently handles some 150,000 travellers a day, remained operational throughout the project.
Closest Pint: A convenient meeting place and watering hole is The Post Office, can be found towards the ‘Harry Potter’ part of the station.
