Forever And A Day – Anthony Horowitz published in 31 May 2018 by Jonathan Cape.
London locations documented:

Chapter 1 – Killing by Numbers
008 is out of action according to Tanner, Chief of Staff, and Sir James Molony who was the,
[…] senior neurologist at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington and one of the few men who knew M both personally and professionally. Pg8 (Praed St, W2 1NY)

Chapter 3 – First Day
Bond enjoys his housekeeper’s scrambled eggs,
[…] which he seriously considered to be the best in the world, alongside hot buttered toast with heather honey from Fortnum & Mason and several cups of double-strength coffee. Pg20

Chapter 4 – Meeting with M
Horowitz describes Tanner’s relationship with Bond.
“Theirs was a friendship that had begun in the last years of the war with a chance meeting in the Ardennes, but it had been firmly cemented over sole meuniere and a first-rate Chablis at Scott’s the day after Bond was recruited to the Secret Service.” Pg35
Presumably as this was written as a prequel to the novel Casino Royale (April ‘1953) Horowitz will be referring to the original Scott’s that Fleming famously ate. As of 2015, the Coventry Street building (18-20 Coventry Street) still exists complete with decorations of an S monogram and shells in stone. It is now part of the Trocadero Centre.

Chapter 7 – Russian Roulette
Sixteen and Bond discuss their gambling rituals,
“I prefer the casino at Estoril, in Portugal. It’s more majestic. And I play at Crockford’s when I’m in London.” Pg70
Footnote: Crockfords was a casino in London located at 30 Curzon St, W1J 7TN. The casino took its name from the former gentlemen’s club in London called Crockford’s. It closed in October 2023 and according to the notice, have moved to the Colony Club. Below are photos I took outside Crockfords Oct’ 2025.

Chapter 13 – Love in a Warm Climate
Bond is shown around Irwin Wolfe’s boat, the Mirabelle,
“Eventually the doctor took him back to a bar that seemed to have been modelled on the Savoy in London – all dark wood and plush – and which the ship’s owner had named after himself.” Pg140 – Pg141.

Opening line : Forever And A Day
Chapter 14 – Secrets and Lies
Sixteen is telling Bond about her dead husband, Danny. She says,
I found out a lot of things about Danny but only when it was too late. Anyway, he took me for dinner that night – to Kettner’s in Soho. Pg 155. 29 Romilly St, W1D 5AL
Kettner’s is one of London’s oldest restaurant and the first to serve French food. Bond also goes here in John Pearson’s James Bond The Unauthorised Biography of 007
Sixteen continues and tells Bond how Danny made a dishonest woman out of her at the Dorchester, and married three months later at the Chelsea registry office. (Chelsea Old Town Hall, King’s Rd, SW3 5EE) Pg156.
He bought a flat in Heddon Street close to Piccadilly. They had dinner at the Ritz, and she had access to a doctor in Cavendish Square. Pg157.

Things I loved about Forever And A Day
Extremely cold ending killing the CIA guy. There is a great introduction to Bond with M and why he wants the 007 number. Great female character in Sixteen, fully fleshed and interesting back story.
She gives him the reason why he drinks martinis shaken not stirred, knowing it bruises the alcohol, its because her husband Danny ordered them that way and she now is determined to do everything the opposite to him. She also recommends the cigarette maker, Morland on Grosvenor Street. (No longer there). Pg271.
There is a fantastic description of what its like to do heroin, terrifying really. That must have been heavily researched and Bond really is battered up here.
